In design and construction, it is very similar to the Portofino's available new today.

As the IWC website states, "Over the past three decades, the Portofino watch family has established itself as one of IWC Schaffhausen's most successful families and is equally popular with both men and women. This is due to both the steady demand for classic models and the puristic design of the Portofino models.

The origins of the large minimalistic case design for the Portofino can be traced back to the 1970's, when the Lepine pocket watch became the inspiration for the entire watch family. The 'pocket-watch-style-wristwatch' was presented in 1984 with the name 'Portofino'. Since then, this watch family, with timepieces that retain their value and, above all, remain timeless, has been a permanent part of IWC's collection."

Powering it is the company's impressive automatic movements, renowned for its workmanship and technical merit.

We are pleased to offer it in such gorgeous condition - it presents as a 9.7 out of 10. Our photos couldn't quite do it justice. Its case presents as just short of perfect. Its dial and sapphire crystal are like new. On the wrist, it presents like new.

A Master Watchmaker has overhauled the movement. It is running very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new IWC.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
