Description |
The 1815 Chronograph is perhaps the finest chronograph currently available on the market. It's history is linked to that of the Datograph, which hosted the first new manually wound chronograph movement in many years. Prior to this, watchmakers used movements derived (or indeed, straight from) third party ebauches (base movements).
The movement is nothing short of exquisite in its design and finishing, and has often been described as a miniature city. A plethora of high-end finishing techniques are put on display, from hand-polished chamfers to mirror-polished components. In 2004, the brand presented the 1815 Chronograph as a thinner and simpler alternative to the Datograph. Its simplicity was attractive at a time when watchmakers were chasing complications and complexity. So far, there have been three iterations of the 1815 Chronograph. The first generation comes with a pulsometer, which is used to measure the human heartbeat. While the second generation did away with this and presented a cleaner aesthetic, the pulsometer returned with the third generation in 2015. |
