The watch was in perfect condition. The only unknown was that it came wrapped heavily in protective Saran wrap all over the watch. I can assume the AD they purchased it from removed the factory applied protective film from the metal.

Yes, you are correct, some ADs remove the factory film and apply an anti-static film to protect the timepieces from scratches and dust. That's how the watches stay in "perfect condition," as you stated. Thank you for choosing to shop with us and we hope you wear your Submariner in excellent health!
