Description
This is a fantastic and super-rare completely unrestored and very honest early example of the iconic Rolex GMT with a slightly tropical dial. The following is a very honest appraisal;

The dial is not perfect, but it is all original and unrestored. It is a beautiful brown ‘tinge’ to it in certain lights – I can’t call it tropical because in some lights it is more black than brown, but in other lights it has a very definite brown tone.

The hands are all original with the original lume, the lume plots are all original and both the hands and plot lume glows very green under UV light.

The original unrestored case chamfers on the lovely thick lugs are still there with some wear and tear as to be expected from an unrestored case, the back cover is correctly stamped for the second quarter of 1966 and the serial number is 149* which is correct for 1966. The bezel insert is lovely with fat numbers and vibrant colours, it is probably 1970-75 but it suits the watch perfectly

The bracelet is also original and dated as in the photographs

The movement is all original and has recently been fully serviced.

The watch comes with the original box but sadly no paperwork
